Air Conditioning

Most vehicle owners and many service centres, do not appreciate that if a vehicle air conditioning system is not correctly maintained on a regular basis, there is a risk of system damage or even a complete vehicle breakdown. Air conditioning systems contain potentially harmful CFC or HFC gases under very high pressures. Exposure to the refrigerant can cause cold burns and blindness.
Servicing of a vehicle air conditioner is recommended every 12 months. This is due to the fact that most systems will lose gas slowly through hoses, O/rings and spinning shaft seal etc. Moisture can also be absorbed through hoses and gas loss and filters can block with debris

PKD Auto Electrcial air conditioning service involves connecting service gauges and running air conditioning to check pressure, system performance, etc. Degassing and evacuating system if required and re-gassing to correct gas level. We also check hoses for possible wear or leakage, belt tension, condition of compressor, condenser filter etc. and overall performance

Leak Detection

Finding the leak's can be very time consuming and hence costly to the customer. We have a variety of leak testing techniques at our disposal including high pressure testing, ultra violet dye and an electronic refrigerant sniffer. We can apply these individually or if necessary collectively to ensure we find elusive leaks.

Smells coming from your air conditioning?

Due to the dehumidifying nature of the air conditioning system mould, fungus and bacteria can build up on the internal evaporator of the car (situated under the dashboard). This build up of bacteria can result in what is commonly known as "sick car syndrome", whereby not only is an offensive smell given off whenever the air conditioning is switched on but also occupants can feel sick or contract ear, nose and throat infections from your system.
We treat the evaporator and entire car interior using specialised disinfectant, killing all the bugs and leaving your air conditioning smelling sweetly.
